Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin will visit Greece from May 8 to May 11 for official talks on economic and scientific topics in Athens, as well as visiting an archaeological site on the island of Euboea supported by the Confederation. The visit aims to maintain and deepen bilateral economic and scientific relations with Greece and support the interests of companies.

Meetings are scheduled with ministers for economic affairs, development, and investments, as well as representatives of the Swiss business and scientific community in Greece. Switzerland and Greece have good bilateral economic and scientific relations, with trade reaching around CHF 1 billion last year, mainly in pharmaceutical products, precision instruments, and machinery. Over 60 Swiss companies operate in Greece, employing almost 10,000 locals, and there have been numerous collaborations in education, research, and innovation between the two countries.
