Neuchâtel, 05.12.2022 - Almost 43 300 hospital admissions in 2021 were for people with a COVID-19 diagnosis, an increase in number compared with 2020 (40 893), writes the Swiss Federal Council.
Over the two years 2020 and 2021, these admissions accounted for 3% of all hospitalisations, but for 22% of hours spent in intensive care. 11% of people admitted with this diagnosis died in hospital.
Furthermore, from March to December 2021, around 1400 people were admitted to hospital with a diagnosis of adverse reactions to COVID-19 vaccines. These are some of the results of the latest publication from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
